The Uptown business district is Greenville’s entertainment, cultural hub. Located right next to ECU’s west campus. The Uptown district offers a variety of great restaurants, live music venues, art galleries, boutique shopping outlets, and a number of popular microbreweries and pubs. Five Points is at the center of Uptown and features Freeboot Fridays during the Football seasons, as well was the weekly Umbrella Market every Wednesday at 5pm. The Town Commons, located in the Uptown district on 1st Street, offers views of the Tar River. It is the primary public park for the city of Greenville and offers playgrounds, the Uptown Amphitheater, and walking, running, hiking and cycling trails along the Greenway.
