Cove City:A Rural Farming Village
Town of 300+ residents, small middle class nrighborhoods, several country churches. A few businesses, one fertilizer company over 100 years old. Three lumber mills. Surrounded by farms, forests, livestock farms. Quiet, friendly. Convenient to beaches, creeks, rivers, and many Eastern NC towns and bigger cities. Craven County. One restaurant, Cove City Express, good food, and Dollar General. No grocery stores, pickup groceries on the way to checkin, or next day in New Bern, etc. See guides for many restaurant suggestions! Family farms, in Cove City or bordering Cove City. There’s several small friendly churches, 300+ residents growing small Mayberry feel village, southern charm, lumber mills, mixed hardwoods & pine forests surround this small NC town. Miles of small two lane roads perfect perfect for motorcycles or cycling enthusiasts, convenient to many larger towns, creeks, rivers, sounds, and the ocean. Located 15 miles from New Bern or Kinston. Convenient to area military bases too.

Quaint village 8 -9 miles south of Cove City, which has a Piggly Wiggly chain larger grocery store, and a few cute restaurants and shops. Trenton is the Jones County seat. Courthouse. There is a lovely mill pond in the village.

Minutes from Emerald Isle beaches! Close to Cape Carteret and Jacksonville NC too. T&W oyster bar on the way is great seafood restaurant. Go kart park nearby, groceries, etc.

Brantley’s seafood restaurant is owned by some of my ex husband’s relatives. The Silos Restaurant is a unique restaurant renovated from actual grain silos! I lived in Oriental briefly some decades ago. It’s a wonderful town. Has become a retirement hidden gem, and known now as the sailing capitol of NC. Weekly regattas! Wildlife photographers, and birder enthusiasts will not be disappointed. Drive from Oriental to Minnesott and cross the Neuse River by a free NC car ferry boat over to Havelock, NC back in Craven County, home of MCAS Cherry Point & the Navy’s FRC East aircraft rework facility that has annual air shows for the family to enjoy! 20 min back to New Bern, then 15 minutes back to Cove City.
