Get a ticket to access both the Castle and Cathedral. At the cathedral you will receive a token to give access to St Rules Tower, from the top you have a great birds eye view of St Andrews. (Edit - there may be areas closed for ongoing maintenance)

Beautiful hiking with amazing views. The hike between The Fairmont and St Andrews is the best, takes approximately 1 1/2 hrs one way. From The Fairmont Clubhouse and ends at East sands or Harbour. Check the tides before you go as there are portions that are tidal as well as wear good walking shoes as there is some rough terrain.

The East Neuk is a string of fishing villages close to St Andrews. Picturesque harbours, art galleries and of course the coastal path connecting them all. Crail is my favourite with a lovely working pottery and crab shack at the harbour(byob and crusty bread to have with the crabs and lobsters). Anstruther has a award winning fish and chips.
