During Covid they are doing takout only, but you can still get pizzas to go and wine. Ask nicely and they will heat up your lasagna or other pasta for you!

This wonderful little neighborhood has lots of places to get food, ample outdoor seating, and sometimes you'll be treated to live music! Near both Fort Ward park, Lytle Beach, or Point white which are all wonderful places to get near the water!

Nature
hundreds of acres in the middle of Bainbridge island, for hiking and nature bathing. There are myriad trails. My favorites are Forest to Sky to Hilltop to Grand Forest East for a nice 6 mile loop.

This is our local beach, which is a 10 minute walk from the Hobbit house. Simply walk up our driveway, turn right on Madison, and then immediately left on Beachcrest and follow down to the beach. This beach is stuninng at low tide, where the entire bay empties out and you can walk safely across the sand to the other side. A favorite for dogs and kids, lots of crabs hiding under rocks, beachcombing and a breathtaking view of Seattle and Mount Rainier.

Want to walk to a nice little neighborhood park? This lovely small park has hiking trails, and is within walking distance from the Hobbit house. A neighborhood favorite, but not as busy as the grand forest.

Sightseeing
Battle Point park has a 10 hole disc golf course, a 1.5 mile loop paved path around the park, soccer and baseball fields, hockey court, basketball court, pickleball and tennis courts, picnic shelters, a pond, and an observatory. It's literally our "central park" where the island goes to recreate. There is a playground but it is currently under remodeling. There is also a small pump track. Bicycling is ok, rollerblading, walking, running and more.
