Upper vs Lower Dells
The Wisconsin Dells Power plant and dam divides the river near the historic downtown Dells railroad bridge. The Lower Dells is the section of River below the dam, most notable for Hawk’s Beak and Sugar Bowl rock formations. The Upper Dells is the section above the dam, most notable for Coldwater Canyon, The Narrows, High Rock, Sand Bar near Louis Bluff and the Stand Rock Formation.
