Cycling is a fun, healthy and adventurous way to explore the Isle of Wight. With plenty of cycle paths varying in length and ability, it’s not surprising that people visit the Island for this reason alone. Whether you’re looking to bring your own or you’re planning to hire a bike, the Isle of Wight will not disappoint.
The Island is tailor-made for great cycling, with over 200 miles of cycle routes through some of the most scenic countryside in the UK. My favourite route is cycling the Military Road in the southern most tip of the island, it’s anywhere between Niton, Ventnor, wroxall, Bonchurch, back towards wroxall, Whitwell via rookley then back home via freshwater. It’s ever changing scenery and brilliant varied terrain which makes it interesting and challenging.
