It's right around the corner of my house, it's cheap, good quality food (service is slow, which is nice when you have the entire evening to spend and just want to enjoy a good time talking to your eating companion) The food is organic which I love and they have all sorts of games you can play. Inside is nice, outside is great too when the weather is good.

I love the international vibe. It's close by and the food is great. Wonderful variety. Nice wines and good service. If you're done with dinner you can go upstairs and enjoy a great cocktail at the best cocktailbar in Groningen or cross the street to the Dog's Bullocks where they either have live music or large screen tv's if you enjoy watching sports with other people in a pub where the staff is fun, friendly and relaxed.

Best fast food place in Groningen!!! The have the most amazing fries and give you a lot of them as well for the lowest price. It's a two minute walk from my house- seriously go there when you don't feel like cooking but eating in :)

This is THE new hang out spot especially on Friday and Saturday evenings. They have yummy food, ok drinks, really nice personnel, and just a cool place to be. You can sit in and outside in comfortable couches or have dinner on on one or in groups. Just go and take a look :D

Sightseeing
Just walk around the city center, any direction you take from this point on will be fun to see. The town has a unique quality I feel as it is old and new at the same time. The way the city is set up is terrific (I always compare it to an union- as it has all these perfect layers that you can peel off and wherever you are, you're always within a certain range from the city center...it all leads back to the Grote Markt).

Just walk around the city center, any direction you take from this point on will be fun to see. The town has a unique quality I feel as it is old and new at the same time. The way the city is set up is terrific (I always compare it to an union- as it has all these perfect layers that you can peel off and wherever you are, you're always within a certain range from the city center...it all leads back to the Grote Markt).
It's a really nice and fun climb. Beautiful old tower with nice clocks. The view over Groningen city is absolutely wonderful.

Parks & Nature
It is beautiful and peaceful. It doesn't matter what time of the year. This park is great for barbecuing with friends or just to hang out, to skate or run in, play basketbal etc. etc. During the winter it is great to skate in the little pond or watch other people or just to grab a coffee/hot chocolate in the middle of the park. During fall it's great to take pictures and walk around with the beautiful leaves falling from the trees...I highly recommend to walk through the park and enjoy it in all its glory

A large supermarket which has everything you would need should you wish to cook your own food at the house. The Aldi is across the street from the Jumbo and there are other convenient stores right there in that little square. (drug store and a hair dresser and a coffee/lunch place etc.)

Perfect location for when you come from the city. I usually pop in here to get last minute stuff on my way home. It's one of the well known grocery stores in The Netherlands

The drugstore I usually go to. Very nice and helpful personnel and they basically have everything I need. (Shampoo, make up, tylenol and such)

Really cheap massages. You can get a massage immediately. It's great for instant relief and just to relax. They also have nice foot massages- just let yourself be pampered for a small price. I also love the owner, he always has such a nice happy smile :D

Quite cheap massages, they're pretty good. I personally prefer Lotus, but that is just personal. They have been great every time I was there too.

Beautiful building! This one collaborates it's schedule and entertainment with The Oosterpoort. I highly recommend to take a look at the website to see what is playing during your stay. The inside of this building is gorgeous and has an old school feel to it because of the set up. If you enjoy opera, this is the place to be.

Wonderful broad based market. Lot's of yummy healthy and fresh food. I go there whenever I can. Love walking around and smelling the fresh food. Another really great thing is that it's located in the middle of he city center and about a 10-15 minute walk from my house. The prices are really cheap, I usually buy bags full of fruit and veggies for 10 euros...this makes me quite happy :D

Wonderful broad based market. Lot's of yummy healthy and fresh food. I go there whenever I can. Love walking around and smelling the fresh food. Another really great thing is that it's located in the middle of he city center and about a 10-15 minute walk from my house. The prices are really cheap, I usually buy bags full of fruit and veggies for 10 euros...this makes me quite happy :D
