Old Austin favorite (just so you know what you're getting into). Besides regular breakfast hours (when the lines can get pretty long on the weekends), locals have been going there after hours for ages to sober up - or whatever one does after the party.

Another Austin tradition. Standard Tex-Mex with a bar and often live music outside on their patio. Tell the bartender how you like your margaritas otherwise you'll get the really sweet version. If you like the really sweet version, no worries!

This place has several restaurants, shops (check out their moto shop) and other hotel services available to walk-ins, but their happy hour is hard to beat (including food). Good selection of tequilas - the Don Julio 42 is always a good late afternoon (re)treat - but, sadly, not on the happy hour list :-(

This one is FUN. Just go in and look around. Day of the Dead meets the Buddha meets Ghandi. Spend a few dollars, spend hundreds of dollars; it's hard not to spend.

This is a sweet park that includes a hike & bike trail, a baby and toddler pool, tennis courts and softball field. Good place to throw a frisbee too. About a 10 minute walk - in the other direction - from StudioSoCo. Locals take advantage both morning and late afternoons. It's nice to get away from SoCo and enjoy the neighborhood. We have some interesting architecture going on - where your Uncle Bubba lives right next door to the modern contemporary lives right next door to the historical...
