Food Scene

Nice little neighborhood restaurant with local tico food. It is just around the corner from the Airbnb and therefore extremely convenient. AND the food is delicous.

This is the signature bar in Manuel Antonio for over 20 years. The bar is made of an old army plane. Just behind the bar you will find the El Avion Restaurant with great food - steaks and seafood. The staff is very friendly and the food is nice. The views are great.

Parks & Nature

The Nationalpark is definitely worth a visit. The earlier you go the better it is. You can beat the crowds and see more animals early in the morning or on a rainy day. Watch out on Tuesdays the park remains closed. Make sure to buy your tickets ahead of time. You can buy them online. The tickets are sold by time slots. It is best to go early

Beach

A beautiful small beach in a cove in Manuel Antonio. Thanks to its location the big waves and currants of the open ocean spare this little bay and it is normally safe to swim. To access it drive towards Hotel Parador - there is street parking, locals watch the car for you for a small fee. Walk down through the rainforest until you get to the water. In the trees surrounding the beach, you can normally see monkeys, sloths and parrots. Especially with children this is a great beach

This is the beautiful and large sandy beach outside of the park. Be careful with bathing, as the waves and currants are strong and can pull you out. It is a great beach for surfing and many local surf schools are located here. One of my favorite things to do here is go for an early morning walk to receive the sun. You can walk downhills to the beach by taking the road to Playitas (Corner Hotel Mariposa, Cafe Milagro), walk along the beach and take the bus back up - or if you are into some work out you can walk back the same way - however this time it will be uphill and already a bit warmer. As beautiful the beach it is for early morning walks, as amazing it is for the blue hours and sunset. However I do not recommend to stay after sunset, when it gets dark.
