5 daytrips to take from Casa da Cabaza

There is so much to discover in this part of Spain and Casa da Cabaza is perfectly situated in the center of Galicia to explore the dramatic Atlantic Coast, the Ribeira Sacra wine region, the Courel mountains and some of Galicia's most beautiful cities.
The Ribeira Sacra wine region is a spectacular area to explore with the terraced vineyards that cling to steep riverbanks, waterfalls, river beaches, good food and wine and old monasteries. You can explore by car or on foot.

Lugo is a 45 minute drive north from Casa da Cabaza. The old city center is where you should go. Walled by the only intact Roman Wall, a UNESCO heritage site, the old town is bustling in summer with restaurants and bars and is a lovely place for sunday people watching. The cathedral and the provincial museum are worth a visit too.

Ourense is just over an hour's drive south from Casa da Cabaza and while the city center is worth exploring we think the hot springs are the main attraction here. Especially on colder days, soaking in these baths is pure bliss and the fact that entry is free makes it even better.
