Το φαράγγι Αυλάκι βρίσκεται κοντά στη μονή Γουβερνέτου, 16km ανατολικά των Χανίων. Είναι από τα σημαντικότερα φαράγγια της Κρήτης με ιδιαίτερη θρησκευτική αξία, καθώς στις σπηλιές του έβρισκαν καταφύγιο πολλοί μοναχοί και ασκητές. Μέσα στο μικρό αυτό φαράγγι υπάρχει η εγκαταλελειμμένη μονή Καθολικού

Το μοναδικό σε ομορφιά και βλάστηση φαράγγι της Αγίας Ειρήνης, βρίσκεται στο δυτικό τμήμα των Λευκών Ορέων, κοντά στο ομώνυμο χωριό του Δήμου Καντάνου-Σελινου. Αποτελεί τμήμα του Ευρωπαϊκού Μονοπατιού Ε4, έχει μήκος 7,5 χιλιόμετρα και για τη διάσχισή του χρειάζονται περίπου 3 ώρες. Η είσοδός του βρίσκεται κοντά στο χωριό Αγία Ειρήνη και η έξοδός του 5 χιλιόμετρα βόρεια του παραθαλάσσιου χωριού Σούγια.
Αν και δεν είναι τόσο γνωστό και μεγάλο όσο το γειτονικό φαράγγι της Σαμαριάς, το φαράγγι της Αγίας Ειρήνηςείναι εξίσου όμορφο, έχει πλούσια βλάστηση αλλά και αρκετά σημεία με ιστορικό ενδιαφέρον, που εντοπίζονται στην κοίτη του.

Το μοναδικό σε ομορφιά και βλάστηση φαράγγι της Αγίας Ειρήνης, βρίσκεται στο δυτικό τμήμα των Λευκών Ορέων, κοντά στο ομώνυμο χωριό του Δήμου Καντάνου-Σελινου. Αποτελεί τμήμα του Ευρωπαϊκού Μονοπατιού Ε4, έχει μήκος 7,5 χιλιόμετρα και για τη διάσχισή του χρειάζονται περίπου 3 ώρες. Η είσοδός του βρίσκεται κοντά στο χωριό Αγία Ειρήνη και η έξοδός του 5 χιλιόμετρα βόρεια του παραθαλάσσιου χωριού Σούγια.
Αν και δεν είναι τόσο γνωστό και μεγάλο όσο το γειτονικό φαράγγι της Σαμαριάς, το φαράγγι της Αγίας Ειρήνηςείναι εξίσου όμορφο, έχει πλούσια βλάστηση αλλά και αρκετά σημεία με ιστορικό ενδιαφέρον, που εντοπίζονται στην κοίτη του.

You can get a delicious meal at the Kali Kardia Taverna on the main street. Owner Kostas Agapinakis is known for his award-winning sausages, excellent apaki (smoked pork) and meats cooked on the grill outside the taverna. If you are lucky you might get to try his delicious galaktoboureko (custard pastry) while it is still warm.
