It is the most amazing castle in Wales, a Victorian version of a medieval castle, built on the ruins of a medieval castle. It is 20 minutes drive/10 miles away, and has stunning beautifully decorated rooms.

Parks & Nature
Nearest entrance is 5 minutes walk from the house, where there is a level tarmac path which runs for 3 miles to Treharris, passing lakes along the way. Early morning walks almost always involve seeing herons. Entrance for cars is about 5 minutes drive, this takes you to the higher levels of the park, where you can find the largest earth sculpture in Britain (google Sultan the pit pony). There is also a metal sculpture on the highest point, as there was a wartime transmitter there. Views from the higher levels of the park are fantastic.

Beautiful scenery, good hill walking, nice country pubs, Brecon market ton is good for a wander. 30 minutes drive from the house to the Storey Arms car park, from where you can walk to the top of Pen y Fan, the highest peak in southern Britain.

If you book a car through their website, they will collect you from my home and take you to the rental premises to pick up the car as part of the normal process. They will also bring you back here at the end of the rental.
