A century ago, Dookie flourished with expansive vineyards. At its peak, Dookie produced 1/3 of Victoria’s wine. A secret cellar door tucked away in the Dookie Hills. Just a 25 minute drive from both Shepparton and Benalla, perched above an ever-changing rural landscape in the rolling Dookie Hills, you will discover the Tallis Wine cellar door. Be transported to a natural and relaxed setting as you motor through the property’s gates. Discover the warm hospitality and enjoy seasonally selected local produce with distinctive handcrafted single vineyard wines. Tallis Wine is an excellent place to bring visiting guests or get together with family and friends. You can experience the captivating beauty of the Dookie Hills and Strathbogie Ranges, fireside or out on the relaxed deck. Choose to be guided through a wine tasting, share a regional grazing platter or homemade cakes and coffee. From cellar door, stroll the interpretive Rock Correa walking track (one hour return) for a chance to sight kangaroos and birds, learn about the indigenous Yorta Yorta history and take in breathtaking 360 degree panoramas back to Benalla, Shepparton and beyond. Brand new cellar door with impressive mosaic installation by local artist. Sandra and Guido Vazzoler are your amazing hosts. Fabulous Italian inspired wines and food. Prosecco style sparkling, Gypsy girl whites, Rose (Carrie’s personal favourite, sought after reds including the award winning Ragazzonne. The wood fired pizzas are well worth the drive! One of our favourites. Established 1975 Longleat is located in the picturesque river bank town of Murchison-just 20 minutes North from Nagambie and 30 minutes South from Shepparton (20 mins from Tatura). Established in 1975, the picturesque Longleat vineyard is planted on the West bank of the Goulburn River. The 8 ha vineyard derives its name from its proximity to the river and the historic Day’s flour mill (leat; water channel that feeds a mill). Varieties grown and produced at Longleat include Semillon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Longleat also produces a Rosé, an Australian Sparkling and a Late Harvest.
