You have lots of public transport near the apartment (ecovía and public buses). They are good for short distances and north-south. However, if you need to go anywhere in between, use a taxi (yellow cars) or uber/cabify, they are safest and easier than public transport

Dating from the colonial time, the center of Quito is one of the most beautiful city centers in whole latin america (that´s one of the reasons of why Quito is UNESCO´s world heritage site). Lots of airbnb experience are offer or you can pick a tour or go by yourself (heads up! buglars may be around so watch out not to go alone)
