Judy's World Famous Cafe is only 11 miles to the West and is World Famous for it's gigantic portions and size! Seating is limited, but you won't want to miss this as a great place for breakfast or lunch...don't forget to sign the guest book and take your photo out front!

Locks Thai Cuisine

Is it the food, or is it Lock? I love both! Amazingly good Thai cuisine only 11 miles to the West. While you're there, you have to try Lock's hot tea...and ask her about her story. She has an amazing story about her escape and journey to the US.

The newest addition to our Historic Main Street in Jetmore (only 11 miles to the West)...Bootleggers is open for lunch and dinner and features all kinds of fun events and live music! They have space for private meetings and large gatherings, as well as the "bar side" with seating and the bar, as well as tables. But they have recently opened up the basement as well. Great space with limestone walls...I think it has a "speakeasy feel". In May, 2018 they will be opening up their back patio for fun, evening dining experiences.

The newest Reservoir in the State of Kansas, and the largest body of water in SW Kansas...HorseThief has only been open to the public since 2012. Stand up Paddle-board, Canoe and Kayak rentals; Camp Wild Women; fishing; swimming; hiking and biking trails; boating; wildlife watching; Zombie Paintball during the month of October; music events; The HorseThief Festival; and much, much more! In addition to RV hookups and tent camping, their numerous Yurts are quickly making this THE Glamping Capital of the Midwest.

The newest State Park in Kansas is a unique collaboration with the Nature Conservancy...and simply amazing! My friend Sara-Kay Carroll is the Park Manager and this place is certainly worth the drive.

Haun Museum

Great local museum! Bigger than it looks outside, the museum now encompasses 3 Main Street buildings and also has an additional metal building in the back that houses farming equipment. You will get a great feel for what life was like on the Prairie...and they have a great Military Display that you wouldn't expect for a small museum. When HorseThief Reservoir was being built, a team from Columbia, Mo completed the archaeological dig and their findings now reside in the Haun Museum...The Treasures of HorseTheif. When you stop by...don't forget to ask about the Jetmore Elephant...and if you are interested, they may even let you try on the coat made from Buffalo! NO Charge to enter.

Zack is an amazing young craftsman that makes handmade heirloom furniture that is currently shipped all over the USA. A one man - one cat shop...you can find him in there creating beautiful one of a kind creations at all hours. If you get lucky, you may arrive when his wife and son are in for a visit. Zack's unique rockers are all named by his wife and then photographed "in the wild", in nearby pastures, wheatfields and the like. DON'T miss this stop! Recently featured by Mike Rowe...this guy is the real deal.
