Sightseeing

We've recommended a couple spots really close to our home, and the two must visits in downtown Seattle. If you have any questions about sightseeing, please ask! Though we haven't been to all the tourist attractions in the city, we'd be happy to help you navigate them.

What's the Seattle skyline without the Space Needle? Go to the top of the tallest building in Seattle to see views of the city and the Sound. There's a bar and snacks at the top too!

Locals and tourists alike come to visit the market, and for good reason! You could spend all day here finding different pockets to hang out in. The Market and the immediate area that surrounds it is home to (seriously) dozens of great restaurants, and Unexpected Productions, Seattle's oldest improv theater is found here! Our favorite place in the whole market is Ghost Alley Espresso, which is down the staircase right in front of the fish throwers. They make some of the best coffee in Seattle, which is high praise!

Transporte

OneBusAway is a great app to download before your visit.

All of the buses are $2.75 per ride and announce each upcoming stop. Google Maps is great at giving the public transport options for any trip, but make sure to download OneBusAway. In this app, you can find all of the bus stops near you marked with green circles. Clicking on the green circle will show you which routes stop at that stop, how often they show up, and when the next bus will be there. It updates in real time, so it will tell you if your bus is late! If you click on the route, you can choose Show Trip Status, and it will give you a list of the stops that bus will make.

Seattleites don't use umbrellas!

It might seem silly, given that it rains pretty often here, but Seattleites don't use umbrellas! Most of the rain we experience here is a light mist or sprinkle, so we recommend packing a jacket with a good hood that works well in the rain. It's unlikely you'll need much more than that. If you just can't fathom leaving the umbrella at home, make sure you're a good umbrella user, minding others on the sidewalk and shaking off your umbrella before entering establishments.
