The mosque is partially surrounded by a human-made lagoon which is where the name of "The floating Mosque" comes from. The mosque is a popular tourist destination. The mosque can be visited by non-muslims, except during prayer hours. Visitors are required to wear modest clothing, long pants and long sleeves.
