Built in 1983 in a Mississippi shipyard, the 131-foot paddle-wheeler was cut into sections, then transported by 27 semi trucks to the captive waters of Lake Conroe, at Seven Coves. There the craft was reassembled and finishing touches were added. It was then launched as one of the lake’s most recognizable icons. The Southern Empress offers unforgettable evenings filled with dining, drinks & dancing. By coming aboard, you’ll enjoy dinner on the main deck, party on the Magnolia deck, where the DJ and cash bar keep the good times going, and watch the sunset over the lake on the Texas and Hurricane decks.

Along the trail, you may encounter scenic creeks, deer, pig, turkey and lots of small animals and birds. Most trails are total wilderness so no bathrooms or garbage so it is Pack In Pack Out. Fires hazard risk can be high says Smokey Bear. Go for the Day, Have Fun and Stay Safe!

A local favorite with a great reputation. Prices are reasonable. They offer pizza, of course, sandwiches, pasta dishes, burgers, etc. We always clean our plates and the Italian Cream Cake is delicious!
