Locally known for their ribs, they also have a full menu and bar. With covid lockdowns in place they are offering outdoor dining options complete with white lights and outdoor heaters. I recommend the bloody Mary burger! it's Huuuuge and is served as an accent to the bloody mary.
During the winter time they partner with a company for horse drawn carriage rides. You can contact the lodge to inquire about reservations. Such a super beautiful experience. ❄

If dive bars are your thing, this place is it! Nothing to look at appearance wise however the drinks are affordable, and the food is quite good! I recommend their pizza or burgers. It's definitely not fast food so keep that in mind.

The owners import their flour & chocolate from Italy to ensure the best quality ingredients. They also use local eggs from a family farm less than a mile down the road, and a local coffee.
My personal favorites are; dirty Chai + egg breakfast croissant.

Sightseeing
Drive through the campground, at the bottom of the hill turn right into a small parking lot facing the escanaba River. There is a beautiful hiking trail that follows the river here.

Our closest lake located less than a mile from home. There is a hiking trail around the lake, orv trail, picnic area, pavillion and basketball court. This is a smaller lake so no boating.
Check out the listing pics for a few other lake options in the area. There are sooo many lakes in the area.

A local winter favorite. Amazing photo opportunity. I recommend looking it up on trip advisor to read over tips from other travelers.
They have a Facebook page as well where they update conditions etc. be aware that it is a completely rural setting on private property so please be mindful and respectful of the generosity of these individuals. They take donations for the upkeep as well as portapotties they provide. Warm clothes& boots, boot/ ice grips and/ or a walking stick recommended

awesome spot for social media pics - lots of graffiti mixed with nature. One of our favorite places to explore. Trails, art, nature, an awesome trio.
Getting There 
Drive down cliffs power road and park at the Marquette mountain loop (same as parking for Incarceration crag). Walk up and then back towards where you came on the old two track jeep trail. You should see a wall with blue graffiti in a few hundred feet.
