Summer and staffing challenges = relax and breath
During the summer our Northern Michigan locals do their best to accommodate the increased tourist needs, but it's hard. Please be patient and kind, they are doing their best to make your experience here the best it can be. A smile and kindness will get you everywhere when looking for tips, deals, and must see recommendations from your service staff.

Everything is a half hour away
Depending on traffic, bikers, wildlife etc.. please plan a few extra minutes to get around the area during the summer time. We care about our wildlife, and people like to come tour on bikes around the lakes. Please be considerate of sharing the streets with others!

Boat rentals
Just down the street we have Bedells crossing. They rent pontoons and kayaks for the Upper Chain of Lakes. To get out on Torch Lake, you'll want to contact Dewitts, Butches, or Torch River Marine for boat rentals. We also will possible have a pontoon available for rent for the upper chain of lakes, also. For kayaking, call Graves Crossing in Mancelona to book a kayak or canoe trip down the Jordan River.
