Neighbourhoods

The Kapiti Coast is a collection of small seaside villages stretching up the west coast of the lower North Island 40 minutes from the capital Wellington. Kapiti has its own mild micro-climate and laid-back holiday feel. The settlements are nestled between the Tasman Sea and the Tararua Ranges. Our immediate neighbourhood is in a cul-de-sac of small lanes bordering onto a public natural reserve, a farm with wetlands and the beach. Its a safe neighbourhood where you'll see people walking with their kids, dogs & beach gear. The cafe down the road has regular live music and is the social hub of the neighbourhood. There is also a small grocery store. Supermarkets, the mall and larger stores are a 5km away in Paraparaumu (easy by bike or bus). Use of our car is negotiable. Also a community orchard at the Jeep Rd Reserve 100m around the corner. There are heaps of places to explore nearby inlcuding hiking, swimming, Kapiti Island, fishing, diving, mountain biking, paddle boarding, kids playground, free tennis courts (500m away) and a community orchard around the corner. The beach is very safe for swimming and kayak fishing with occasional good surf.
