Old town/ mosque
It has been one of the oldest temple settlements in Istanbul throughout the history of Istanbul. As it is known, before Hagia Sophia was built, there was a small church in the same place. Like many temples that were churched as a typical Roman empire habit, it is among the legends that have survived to the present day that this place was a temple during the period of ancient polytheistic beliefs. Opposite the main entrance, the Baby Jesus and the Virgin Mary greet you on the left of the podium, even behind the curtains. You can sit in the center of the four great angels and feel all the energy of the mosque in all of you

Commissioned by Süleyman I, known as 'the Magnificent', the Süleymaniye was the fourth imperial mosque built in İstanbul. The Süleymaniye crowns one of İstanbul's seven hills and dominates the Golden Horn, providing a landmark for the entire city. Though it's not the largest of the Ottoman mosques, it is certainly one of the grandest and most beautiful.
