City/town information

Pine Mountain Club is a beautiful, friendly mountain village reminiscent of California in simpler times. four distinct seasons bring snow in the winter and super blooms in the spring – sorbet sunsets year-round. wildlife is abundant here in the spring, summer and fall months. California quail, mule deer, black bears, hawks, owls, jays, blue birds, cotton tail and jack rabbit are just part of the pine mountain landscape. it’s not uncommon to watch a bear or bobcat stroll through the greenspace behind the yay during your morning cuppa.

PIE!! Alick and Vickey own the place and are the best - this place is by no means fancy but it is homey and delicious. I CRAVE vickey's pies - pecan, apple, key lime, berry... so many, all amazing! and hudson ranch road makes for a beautiful drive to get there

coming from the south? love sandwiches? this is your spot! I know I know it's a gas station but it's so good. if Lou is there tell him to make you whatever he wants (he's that good) otherwise I recommend the tuna salad (yes, from a gas station) or the italian combo.

Sightseeing

bet you didn't know we had a national monument in our backyard? beautiful any time of year - take a drive/ride through the main road and pull onto any side streets to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. be mindful of staying on the beaten path.

riding

also known as Gorman - whether you're on a dirt bike, quad, or your stock 4x4 - this is a fun day. 15 mins from the yay, $5 per vehicle at the gate. I can't speak for 4 wheels but if you're on a dirt bike my favorite loop is: road runner > brome > mesa > masons > salt lick > cow > pronghorn > ravens ridge > flat fanny > west freeman > badlands > gorman - almost 30 miles of fun.

great riding spot - off the beaten path so never crowded. sandy, mellow trails - not particularly rocky. some beautiful ridge riding if riding: fill up in pmc, take hudson ranch road to quatal canyon and it pops you out near the entrance to Ballinger - you can do a good 30 mile loop of the park and still ride home with gas to spare

HIKING

check out local hikes here: https://pinemountainclub.net/hiking-trails the WOODLAND WATERFALL is closest to the yay and while not very long, it is a bit precarious - I've taken my 4 year old niece who scrambled up the rocks no problem - its an ankle roller but beautiful EAGLE PASS RIDGE is my go to for a pleasant hour walk through the woods
