This is the closest thing this neighborhood has to a diner, except for that it is a slightly upscale version of that? Coffee and pastries, Brunch and Dinner menu plus cocktails, beer, the best 90s hip-hop and charming fairy lights and booth seating, what more could you ask for?

This is a good place to go with a few friends for cocktails, salty foods, and nostalgic 90s music.
ALSO, there is a new little pop up bar next door that looks dimly lit and inviting...

Loud Baby is a hole in the wall coffee shop that you could walk by without noticing but do go in! They serve good coffee and a homemade carrot cake I recommend! Seating is limited so may be better for a grab and go.

Jauja is a fairly new Mexican food spot that is really close to the house and makes reliably good tacos, tortas and more. I recommend getting the Birria tacos with consomme for a quick bite that's warm, saucy and satisfying!

The breakfast tacos are made to order and although there are only a few options to choose from, they are all good. There are also a few fresh pressed-juices to choose from but if you're like me and prefer coffee with your tacos then a great cafe, Hamlet, is right nextdoor.

Prospect Park is particularly beautiful during the changing of the seasons -Fall or Spring, but the summer weekends are an amazing opportunity for people watching. There is also robust summer programming that offers a lot of free events including free concerts and movies under the stars.

This smallish art museum is housed in a beautiful building worth walking to just to take in the architecture. There is a fairly frequent rotation of exhibitions that aim to cast a wide net, so check out what's currently on exhibition and see if it appeals to you!

I buy an annual membership here that is well worth the cost. The grounds are truly lovely, offering ample gardens grouped by themes (one of my favorites is the Shakespeare Garden which contains plants mentioned throughout Shakespeares works!)
The Botanic Gardens may be the one place in Brooklyn that you don't have to worry about stepping in dog shit :)
