Easily accessible bush walk, well-formed paths (not suitable for wheelchairs) suitable for family groups. Can be done as an in-and-out walk from Oakleigh St, Maungaraki. Alternatively can include the length of the Korokoro Stream, Oakleigh St to Petone, or vice versa. Comfortably accessible nature walk/bush experience. Great photo opportunities.

Drive to Burdan's Gate at Eastbourne, and walk or bike along the coastline to the Pencarrow Lighthouses. Flat gravel road, but can be quite windy. Great views of the South Island's Southern Alps, Wellington from a different perspective. Fabulous big crashing waves onto large rocks at the Lower Lighthouse. Walking or biking access to the upper lighthouse. Great scenic photo opps, plenty of quail families scampering across the road and great beaches for shell gathering.

Drive to Burdan's Gate at Eastbourne, and walk or bike along the coastline to the Pencarrow Lighthouses. Flat gravel road, but can be quite windy. Great views of the South Island's Southern Alps, Wellington from a different perspective. Fabulous big crashing waves onto large rocks at the Lower Lighthouse. A short drive to Petone foreshore - a very safe swimming beach, no rips, and very flat a long way out from shore. Lovely place for a relaxing stroll, fish n chips on the beach. Visit the Petone Settlers Museum; the Alfred Memelink Artspace Gallery; or a dairy for an ice cream on the beach.
