Take a wander around the grounds and admire the beautiful gardens or take a step back in time and visit the hall and museum. Mini guests will enjoy a trip around the zoo, a visit to the outdoor play area and a game of miniature golf whilst the big kids can head off around the main golf course. After all of that hard work why not visit the cafe before you leave which serves hot and cold food and drinks and a selection of cakes. Flamborough Cliffs Nature Reserve, as part of Flamborough Head, is designated as a Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and a Special Protection Area (SPA), and is also a part of the Flamborough Head Heritage Coast. Flamborough Head is the most northerly location at which you can find coastal chalk cliffs in the UK. Algal and lichen communities found within the sea caves in the cliffs are one of the less known reasons for the sites international importance. 20% of Flamborough Head’s breeding sea bird population can be found on the relatively short stretch of coastline of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve. The best place to see puffins on the UK's mainland coast is at YWT's North Landing reserve. Huge colonies of guillemots, razorbills.

One of the UK’s top wildlife spectacles - almost half-a-million seabirds swooping, soaring and screeching above and around towering chalk cliffs. Between March and October, guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes, herring gulls, fulmars and shags nest here as well as the largest seabird in the UK, the majestic gannet. The thriving gannet colony here is the largest on the UK mainland.  And everyone's favourite, the puffin, is with us from April to July. Six, safe viewpoints perch on the cliff tops and give incredible views of the nesting birds and along the impressive coastline towards Filey or Flamborough.  Viewpoint volunteers are on hand to help identify the different species and point out the action. Recent archaeological surveys of the Bayle have concluded that a large proportion of the building dates to the late 12th Century. The initial use of the building is unclear although there is a possibility it may have been a gatehouse to a castle built by William le Gros after he took control of Bridlington Priory in 1143. In the 14th Century the Bayle was the Gatehouse to Bridlington Priory, a porter lived inside the Bayle and monitored the comings and goings of the Priory. An Almoner also lived in the Bayle and distributed food and ale to the poor of Bridlington. Since the dissolution of Bridlington Priory the Bayle has been used for many different purposes including a Prison, Court, School, Garrison.

Bridlington north beach is one of two beaches in this popular seaside town in East Yorkshire. The north and south beaches are divided by the harbour and both are very different. The south beach is a larger stretch of golden sand whereas the north beach has more pebbles. There is still plenty of sand for building sandcastles and even at high tide there’s a section of beach that never gets covered by the sea. At top end of the north beach near the harbour, you will find many traditional fairground rides. The rides are run by two different companies with two different token systems so make sure you choose which rides you prefer before you purchase your tokens. There are also some large amusement arcades here with bowling, a cinema, crazy golf and plenty of places to purchase traditional seaside food. In the middle of the stretch of north beach, you will find the leisure centre. From here you can get one of two land trains up to Sewerby Hall and Gardens. The leisure centre has a fantastic pool and a clip n’ climb. There is then a long promenade going up to Sewerby. Along here there are public toilets, the lifeguard station, a cafe, another crazy golf course, then fish and chips, another cafe and beach huts which you can hire. The beach here stretches on and on and the further along you walk the more chance you’ll have of finding some rock pools.

Bridlington south beach in East Yorkshire is by far the largest of the two beaches in Bridlington, although the north beach isn’t small by any means. It stretches for miles, although it is no longer Bridlington beach once you reach Fraisthorpe! South beach Bridlington is the more popular of the two beaches and even at high tide there’s still plenty of sandy beach for everyone. There is a lovely big swimming pool at East Riding Leisure with changing cubicles that are clean and spacious. There is also a smaller family pool with a depth of just 0.9 metres which is usually lovely and warm. This is perfect for kids learning to swim in as it’s deep enough but not too deep, even adults can swim in this pool without knocking their legs on the bottom! Next to the family pool is a fun splash area perfect for kids. There is a mini tube slide and a couple of smaller slides for really little ones. Plus plenty of buckets tipping water, water jets and a water play area. It’s all great for confidence building. Although beware of the tipping bucket! The leisure centre also has a climbing wall and members-only gym. You can also book to use their sports courts. In the week they often have under 5’s soft play sessions with a bouncy castle and other soft play equipment for little ones. Parking is by pay and display n the leisure centre car park.
