Outstanding, authentic Polish food in a great little restaurant/bar in the basement of an old building in Hamtramck. Food is cheap with *huge* portions: the fried lake perch and goulash are great.

Technically in "Metro Detroit" and not Detroit proper, this a small Japanese grocery store with a very small cafe that has the best sushi in the region. Worth a trip if you love sushi :)

Probably the best Salvadorean food in Detroit, the pupusas are amazing and cheap, and the horchata is great too. Highly recommended!!
