Beaches

This protected area deserves a whole day to explore it. You will find heavenly beach after heavenly beach in total unspoiled nature. There is no shade along the way so avoid the hottest hours in the summer.

This is a white sand turquoise water beach surrounded by nature. The road is not the best, but that means it's less crowded than other similar beaches. From there you can walk along either side of the coast and reach other beautiful beaches like Cala Mesquida or Cala Matzoc

You can only reach this wonderful beach by foot, maybe that's why it is relatively empty even in the peak of summer. Waters are absolutely pristine and sand is white and fine. Nudism is allowed here but it is also a popular family destination so you'll probably find dressed and undressed people in equal measures!

Another beautiful beach that you can reach only by foot. A short 18 km. drive from Manacor plus a 2 km. walk will take you to this beautiful and quiet beach. Near by are Cala Virgili and Cala Pilota, both equally beautiful but smaller, so a great option is to pack some lunch and visit the three of them in one day. From Cala Magraner it is also possible to walk to Cala Varques, a postcard looking white sand beach and one of the most famous in Eastern Mallorca. However, in recent years yachts and boats are getting increasingly close to the beach and in peak season they can be a little ovewhelming. It is only worth a visit if you are not bothered by crowds or in low season.

Birdwatching

This is a small natural reserve where you can enjoy birdwatching, specially at sunset. Biking is a great way to see the park. It can be easily combined with a beach day around Pollença or Alcúdia, or a visit to the spectacular Cap de Formentor

Shopping

This is a great place to buy some local handcrafts in Manacor. They have lots of beautiful handmade stuff at affordable prices. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, I just love that shop.

Every Wednesday there's a lively and colorful market in the beautiful town of Sineu. There you'll be able to see a bit of Mallorcan tradition and culture, and buy some nice local food and crafts along the way!

Lugares emblemáticos

Nice caves near Manacor, not as crowded as the more famous Coves del Drach. A good option when it's too hot to be out in the summer or for a rainy day.

Són Real is a protected publicly owned finca that holds an interesting prehistoric site. It's right along one of the most beautiful beaches on the eastern coast, plus there's a nice forested area in the finca as well. So it makes a great day out to bike or walk around the finca, visit the ruins and then have a picnic under the pines and a refreshing dip in the sea. It's best if you can rent bikes in the nearby town of Can Picafort, since distances can be long by foot. It used to be possible to rent bikes at the finca itself pre-covid, so maybe check availability beforehand ( ph. 971177639)

Gastronomía

If you are stopping in Palma at any point in your trip, this is the place to go for a taste of traditional pastries, the famous Mallorcan ensaïmada, or a delicious light lunch of 'panades'. The master baker-archeologist, as he calls himself, is devoted to reviving Mallorcan ancient recipes and is one of the best bakers in Mallorca and in Spain! They have two shops, both in Palma around the old town.
