If you feel like good quality, down to earth western food at reasonable prices CoCo's would be our number one recommendation. The menu is not extensive and we consider this a good sign as everything can be as fresh as possible. The chef will directly interact with you for any special requests. There are special menu items that can be pre-ordered at least a day before . These include beef wellington, racks of lamb, birthday cakes and special requests. This is a good place for breakfast if you like really good roti. It is simple local and busy because they are good and reasonably priced.

Quirky bistro that serves local/western fusion menu. Used to be terrific and still good. Worth double checking with staff if you want exactly what is on the menu because they won't inform you if the kitchen is making substitutions. The WiFi is good and the staff can't keep off it. We used to highly recommend it but things change.

This is one of the owner's favorite places in the world. The road up Gunung Raya is ~12Km long, it takes you through the various strata of tropical rain forest. Wind the windows down on your car to experience the sounds and smells of nature. The best times to go are early morning before before 9:30am and late afternoon about 6pm as you might be lucky enough to see and hear Great and Lesser Hornbills leaving or returning to their nests. On a clear day it is worth the trip any time during daylight hours. The vistas across the island at many of the parking spots give a great sense of the island. DO NOT visit during or just after heavy rain. Landslips do happen and the road isn't great.
