The ultimate Italian market, at the main entrance to the Market on Pike Street, this is a great place to pick up wine, cheese, bread and charcuterie to enjoy later. They also have great pizza and cookies to go.

I almost always start my visit here. Load up on mini-donuts on as you walk around and take in the sights and sounds of the market

A legendary and pungent shop in the Market, be sure to stop by for a free cup of Market Spice Tea. But be very careful, as it is always extremely hot!

This is my go-to place for a sit down lunch at the market. Sit by the window for a spectacular view of the market while enjoying great food like their po’ boy sandwiches and soups. Or sit at the bar and let Robbie take care of you.

My favorite coffee shop at the Pike Place Market. It’s up the top floor of the Sanitary Market. If you are lucky, some time around 3 pm, they give away free cake!

Three Girls Bakery doesn’t make their own bread, but they sell a huge variety of breads and pastries from nearly all the local bakeries. They also have a small counter for soups and sandwiches.

This fish market is the middle one of 3 in the main market and has absolutely the best quality. It’s fun to watch them throw fish at the larger Pike Place Fish, but I don’t recommend buying fish that flies and gets bruised in the process.

It’s fun to pop in here to see the cheese making, but the lines are usually very long. Instead I recommend stopping by their restaurant at SeaTac airport in Concourse C, where you can get the same grilled sandwiches and Mac and Cheese and savor it on your way back home.

The long lines here move fast and the piroshky is delicious. I recommend the apple cinnamon. Take that to go and visit Victor Steinbrook park at the north end of the market.

This little Starbucks was the very first one and still has the original theme. There are long lines, so you could also go to the newer bigger one at 1st and Pike (present theme) or the Starbucks Reserve at 1st and University (Future Theme) or visit all 3!

The Pike Place Market

The Pike Place Market is a must see attraction when visiting Seattle. Since 1907, it has been the heart of the city and they do an excellent job of making sure it remains true to its roots. You will find unique and eclectic small business, local crafts, art and produce, great restaurants and street food, plus incredible views and a unique atmosphere. In my guide I recommend some favorite places starting near the main entrance on Pike Street and then moving north. Make sure you walk out to the new overlook behind the craft area and take a stroll through eclectic shops on the lower levels.
