Yakima is nestled in foothills of the Eastern Washington Cascade Mountain Range. The area is a budding artisan community where you’ll see art exhibits in restaurants, tasting rooms, museums, galleries, and at local events all throughout the year.

This is an 8 mile hike, with about a 2.500 elevation gain, most of the gain happens in the last half hour of the hike. In midsummer the butterflies flock to this area to cool off. The view at the top of the mountain is one of the Washington's finest! I don't want to spoil the surprise!

It is absolutely gorgeous, especially if you catch it when the flowers are blooming in spring and early summer. It is easy, mostly flat with a few gentle ups and downs. You circle the peak to end up with a breath taking view of Mt. Rainer. It takes about 2 hours.
This is not only a lovely place to walk but from October to March, thousands of elk gather at the feeding stations right off the 12 highway. There are also several other hikes in the area.
