Very popular with locals and can recommend. It is reasonably priced and has a mix of traditional and new-ish menu options. A really nice area to walk around too, especially as the weather cools down.

We heard really good things about this place but haven't had the opportunity to sample their foods yet. This place is walking distance to Kastel Sucurac apartment and is right at the beach. It's IDEAL for kids and I'm looking forward to trying their food after seeing their reviews and food photos online.

Nautilus

My brother runs this historic mill and the adjacent restaurant on the land we grew up on and is a great location to visit to enjoy the greenery, the sounds of the river, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Fun fact for Game of Thrones fans: this is where the naked river scene was taped!

Bobis is what I think of when I recall my childhood and traveling to Split with my mom. We'd ALWAYS stop at Bobis where she'd get coffee and pastries for us kids. While Bobis pastry quality did not update with the times, it's still great fun with reasonable local prices. Extra perk: Bobis bakery and coffee shop are three minutes from the apartment so you can easily grab your coffee and morning goods here. Staff is super friendly too!

Bobis
5 Marmontova ul.Bobis is what I think of when I recall my childhood and traveling to Split with my mom. We'd ALWAYS stop at Bobis where she'd get coffee and pastries for us kids. While Bobis pastry quality did not update with the times, it's still great fun with reasonable local prices. The oldest of all the Kastela (Castel) villages. There are a total of seven Kastela villages. Sleepy fishing village with virtually no tourist traps. Walk down the promenade, have coffee at Bobis, sample lunch at Nautilus to get a sense for unadulterated Croatia!
