From Campanhã train station (5min from the house) you can find many destinations, Lisbon, Coimbra, Braga, Guimarães, Spain...
If you want to go to the beach I recommend you to take the regional train direction south (Coimbra, Aveiro or Ovar) and go out in the stops Granja, Aguda, Miramar or Espinho, all the stops are next to each others and it's about 25 minutes from Porto
