On the end of the road along the south side of the fjörd - passing a few rivers - Skálarnes receives visitors as both a guest house and research center and passing by hikers. Its nice to park the car by the first big river (when you dont have a big 4x4 jeep) and walk the last 5 km out there to visit this extraordinary place where eider birds, puffins and other birds are plentiful.
