Two tram services available right outside your door.
Trams 109 and 96. Both provide a short trip into the CBD and beyond. In the other direction:
Tram 96:
takes you to Acland Street, St. Kilda - a popular tourist destination famous for it's village feel, restaurants and cakes. And close to St. Kilda Beach. (The cakes are better here in Southbank / Sth. Melb.)
Tram 109
takes you to Port Melbourne - the beach, boardwalks, fish & chips, restaurants and seagulls.
You will need a myki card - a digital / mobile version is available from the Public Transport Victoria website - look for "mobile myki".
