There's so much to do at nearby French Park. Lots of trails (including for winter snowshoeing, skiing, etc). There's a huge park for kids. A lovely swimming beach with rentable water crafts (peddle boats, canoes, kayaks).

A little bit farther then Medicine Lake but also a great park.

This park is not in walking distance and it is very much worth the drive. The outdoor play area for the kids is fun for kids of any age. ANY age. Walking trails and sledding in winter, make this a family favorite. They even have rental equipment!!!
