Unique place climb to the top of this castle. It’s about an hour and a half south. It’s free
Located about an hour and a half south and west in the San Isabel National Forest, this 3-story castle with a fire breathing dragon has been built by Jim Bishop. Really cool place with a very quirky owner.
A hand-built castle by a Colorado native. No entry fee. Cooler weather and great views.
this is a labor of love by the guy who constructed it, Jim Bishop. It is basically a road side attraction in the middle of no where- beautiful drive to get there, self guided “tour” or more accurately, just wandering around the place! Some of it is a bit scary!
This is a must see! Mr. Bishop built the entire castle by himself and it is amazing! It is free, however donations are requested. About 1 1/2 hours from here. Definitely worth the drive.
Take a drive to the castle. On the weekend the dragon spits out fire. The drive there is beautiful.
