If you're looking to beat the heat go to Beulah for a picnic in the pine trees. The park is owned by the City of Pueblo with a visitor's center and some great picnic spots. There's a good bar/restaurant in this small mountain town.

great for hiking, lots of hidden treasures to find, and a variety of difficulty levels. I have never seen mountain bikes but I do not know if they are not allowed, or just not as popular!
