Take a tour of the castle. You will learn so much about the great man who helped establish Colorado Springs. The grounds are amazing and sometimes you are lucky enough to see Big Horn Sheep, especially first thing in the morning.

“Ice Cream Shop • $ • 4.8 star rating • 30 minute drive (NOTE: Located in Manitou Springs) ———— I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream! This is our favorite ice cream spot. We’ve been here several times and tried several different flavors. The ice cream is always delicious and the owner is quirky and friendly!”

“Located less than one mile from The Broadmoor, Seven Falls is one of Colorado’s most captivating natural wonders. This magnificent series of waterfalls is situated in a 1,250-foot-wall box canyon between the towering Pillars of Hercules. Take in stunning vistas of verdant valleys, striking rock formations and golden prairies as you climb the challenging 224 steps to the hiking trails and the banks of glistening streams that feed Seven Falls, and its 181-foot drop of falling water. If you’re looking for unforgettable sightseeing in Colorado Springs, this is it!”

“We LOVE our zoo! There are so many interactive exhibits and the zoo itself is situated on a beautiful mountainside that overlooks the city. Feeding the giraffes is always a highlight, and if you aren’t scared of heights, we highly recommend the sky ride (we like to bring a picnic lunch with us to the top). It can get very busy in the summer months, so going first thing or later in the day can be better to avoid crowds. Wear comfortable shoes because there’s a lot of uphill and downhill walking.”

“This is a must-visit stop in Colorado Springs. The pictures never do it justice. Even if you only have time to drive the loop, it is a must-do! My suggestion would be to hike it and then take a short drive to eat from somewhere in historic Old Colorado City.”
