Walk or train to the Domain and visit this spectacular corner of the Park. Then continue on to the Musum and make sure you have time to visit the Volcano room.

These small but gorgeous botanical gardens are free and a hidden gem of the city. Beautiful greenhouses with pond, sculptures and benches in between them. Winter garden on one side and Summer garden on the other side. You will also find the fern garden between those two. During a sunny day the benches around the pond are very nice place to hang or sit around. The greenhouses house plenty of beautiful and rare plants and flowers.

Part of the Auckland domain that surrounds the Auckland Museum, the Wintergardens are beautiful and free to walk through if you're already in the area. You may catch couples or newly weds taking wedding photos there in any season.

Nice and warm in the winter! Check out the exotic flowers and plants. Go for a short fern walk. Head up to the museum for heaps of things to see. There's a kiosk by the duck ponds and/or a cafe at the museum.

The Winter Garden at the Auckland Domain is a treasure of great historic interest. It was designed in the early 1900s in the style of the famous English partnership of Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jeckyll and opened in 1913. Rare and spectacular plants in an ever-changing display can be seen in each of the two barrel-vaulted Victorian style glass houses which face out on to an extensive court yard and sunken pool. The marble statues in the courtyard between the glass houses were added in the 1920s and 30s by local businessman William Elliot. One house is heated and shows off lush tropical and heat-loving plants while the other displays temperate plants changing with the seasons.
