There are two places in TC that occupy our Best Burger slot—and we keep debating which is better. One is this place, Oakwood Proper. It has a serious advantage for being much closer to us, but the burgers are really something special. Big, perfectly cooked, and creatively topped on a high-quality bun from Old Mission Bakery. Call your order in way ahead because they often sell out. Just set your pickup time.

A vacant mid-century modern building on Eighth Street is now home to some of the best burgers in town. Opened in February 2021, Oakwood offers six enormous burgers, but we’re fans of its namesake which is beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, and house ranch stacked between an Old Mission Bakery bun. Don’t miss Oakwood Proper’s garlic-parmesan fries or the hand-spun peanut butter milkshake using ingredients from a single source creamery.

If you're looking for the best burger you'll ever eat, you have to visit Oakwood Proper. The only thing that may be better than their food is their amazingly friendly staff.

This is another local burger joint. The owners are super friendly and have a real passion for the quality of food they serve. The source their ingredients locally and enjoy meeting everyone who walks through their door!

Amazingly delicious huge burgers! A basket of parmesan garlic fresh cut fries. Awesome milkshakes. Small menu, if you like burgers, this is a must!
