Its name comes from Bicol word "hoyop" which means to blow which aptly describes the cool, soft, murmuring winds that blow through its labyrinthine passageways. Aside from its interesting stalactite and stalagmite formations, the cave is also a site where 4,000 years old potteries, human bones, beadwork and artefacts were unearthed.
