The Ness islands are a collection of natural islands that sit in the middle of the River Ness, connected from the river banks and throughout by beautiful Victorian footbridges. Just a short stroll away from Inverness city centre it is a place of natural beauty to take a peaceful walk and enjoy the surroundings. You can walk from one end of the islands to the other entering on one side of the river and exiting on the other winding your way around the paths through imposing tall pines and matures trees.

This area of Inverness is simply beautiful. Simply just walk along the river from the main car bridge Ness Bridge on either side and you will pass the Inverness Cathedral, Eden Court Theatre (which when first built was in the shape of a camera only seen from an aerial view. Have a lovely coffee and churros by the river from The Kiosk. Keep walking along and you will eventually come to the Bught Park area which has football fields, an Ice Rink, camping site, sports centre, Crazy golf, a boating pond with adventure park, Inverness Botanical garden and coffee shop. You can walk over the last bridge just beside the Crazy golf and follow the path through the Inverness Islands and this takes you to the other side of the River Ness where you can walk back to the main car bridge.
