Teignmouth has a lovely beach and lots of lovely shops to visit it has a lovely view of Shaldon over the water.

Dog friendly beach all year round! The back beach is the locals favourite spot to watch hang out. It’s a great location for a fish n chips, picnic or bbq on the beach, or you can grab some grub from one of the food shacks along the beach. Highly recommended for watching the sunset with your favourite beer or gin in a tin. Equally beautiful for the day or afternoon with the family or dogs for a beach day. There’s boat hire available too!

Around the point from the main sandy beach of Teignmouth is the back beach with pretty beach huts, seafood and good coffee kiosks and a pub at the end with seating outside to sit and soak up the sun. Good fresh muscles in white wine there too if, like me, you love shellfish.

Teignmouth and Shaldon are our nearest beaches. Roads get busy in summer so set out early (that applies for anything in Devon in high season to be honest). Teignmouth is very family friendly and is great for smaller children as there is also a play park, crazy golf, small skate park, cafes, green etc. It also has lifeguards in summer. Dogs are allowed on the second half of the beach April –October: look for signage. Teignmouth beach features a pier from the 19th century and family friendly amenities, restaurants and parks. A day out to be had on a warm summer's day.
