A must see if you like history! This cabin and homestead has been preserved and is right off the parkway. See how the folks lived in the area in the late 1800s. 15 minutes away.

Brinegar Cabin is at milepost 239 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you start your day here, you can travel the Parkway (toward Asheville, NC) and catch many beautiful overlooks, picnic spots and hiking opportunities. In my book, this fits the "Romance" category! This is but one of many stops on the Blue Ridge. Check out blueridgeparkway.org for more.
