While Sacramento boasts many parks per capita, the Capitol Gardens are by far my favorite. Stop to smell the roses, take a seat near the cactus rock garden or visit the various veteran memorials. It’s common to run into peaceful protesters at the Capitol steps.. it’s apart of Sacramento culture 🇺🇸

The California State Capitol is the seat of the Government of California, just a 5 minute walk from the Calvin Crocker House. The building houses the chambers of the California State Legislature, made up of the Assembly and the Senate, along with the office of the governor of California. Located at the west end of Capitol Park and the east end of the Capitol Mall, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. The California State Capitol Museum is housed on the grounds of the capitol.

Capitol Park is well-kept and makes for a great place to take a long walk. There are about 1,140 trees in the park representing over 200 types of trees. Remember - you're in the City of Trees.
