One of Colorado's most recent additions to wilderness areas, and no doubt you will get great mountain views. Likely less busy than wilderness areas like Eagles Nest and Indian Peaks. If you're here in the summer, you can explore the 17 mile trail system, and you'll probably come across huge clusters of wildflowers in the process.

This is a great area for dispersed camping in the National Forest. You can go for miles in a 5th wheel with little trouble. Many large pull off camping areas for larger RVs. A few more choices for smaller trailers, and many more choices for tenters. From riverside to valley views are available. Good off roading with sporadic cell coverage at the higher peaks. The Vasquez Peak Wilderness Area offers a beautiful drive very close to Winter Park, CO. This is where you are truly in the mountains. When you reach the top at 11,060 feet, you are presented with amazing panoramic views of the mountains. It is on the Continental Divide so there is plenty of snow.

This 12,300-acre wilderness area is located in the Arapaho National Forest, and offers 17 miles of hiking and backpacking trails.
