After purchasing the land Maurice Egerton built a small first house. While living in the first house the second house with four bedrooms was built. The unnamed woman called the second house a “chicken house”. That was the reason for Maurice Egerton to build the castle.

it's a fantastic and comfortable picnic location with good historical sites. it is accessible from nakuru town by car . visitors bring their snacks and drinks . the place has beautiful serenic views favourable for photo shoots and family events. At a fee the history of the castle comes to life
