A talha dourada, de 1727, preenche grande parte do interior desta igreja, desde o altar-mor ao orgão. O altar-mor é considerado o exemplar mais destacado da arte da talha em Lisboa, e a decoração rococó em estuque no teto, do italiano Giovanni Grossi, é considerada uma das mais destacáveis no seu género a nível europeu. É igualmente notável o altar de São Paulo (o primeiro logo à entrada), que combina elementos dos estilos nacional e joanino. Gilding from 1727 fills a large part of this church, from the main altar to the organ. The main altar is considered the most outstanding example of gilded art in Lisbon, and the rococo-style stucco decoration of the ceiling, by the Italian Giovanni Grossi, one of the most outstanding of its kind in Europe. Also noteworthy is St. Paul's altar (the first one by the entrance), which mixes the joanino and the Portuguese styles.

Também conhecida por Igreja dos Paulistas, esta magnífica igreja (originalmente pertencente a um convento de 1647) passa despercebida a caminho do Chiado. No interior, no entanto, encontra-se uma das mais belas e suntuosas decorações barrocas da cidade, quase toda em talha dourada completada em 1727. É das obras artísticas mais impressionantes de Lisboa, incluindo o estuque no tecto rococó e o orgão monumental que é uma verdadeira obra prima em talha dourada. O altar-mor é considerado o exemplar mais destacado da arte da talha durante o reinado de D. João V, e inclui esculturas de Santa Catarina, de São Paulo e de Santo Antão de origem flamenga.

Also known as Paulistas Church, this magnificent building (originally part of a convent from 1647) can easily go unnoticed on the way to Chiado. Inside, however, it has one of the most beautiful and sumptuous golden baroque decorations in the city, almost all in gilt added in 1727. It's one of Lisbon's most impressive artistic constructions, including a stucco rococo ceiling and a monumental organ which is a masterpiece of gilded woodwork. The altar is considered a highlight of gilding during the reign of John V, and includes sculptures of Saint Catherine, Saint Paul and Saint Anthony of Flemish origin. On the side walls are large paintings in gilded frames, some of them by Vieira Lusitano and André Gonçalves, two of Portugal's top 18th-century painters.
