Take the winding and narrow road through the canyon—known as Skippers Canyon Road (often shortened to just "Skippers Road")—is bordered by breathtakingly vertical drops on one side and high cliffs on the other. Leave the car behind and take a tour or book a Jet boat ride (insurance companies may not insure for accidents along this narrow, extreme road)

The awesome place to go into when in Queenstown. With the best Jet Boat as well. Rafting trips also start in the canyon.

Skippers Road clings to the side of Skippers Canyon, which drops vertically to the Shotover River, once known as "the richest river in the world". If you want to test your fitness, mountain biking is also an option. Great views, amazing scenery.

Skippers Canyon is a historic and incredibly scenic gorge that spans across 22 kilometres (13.7 miles). It can be accessed from Queenstown through the same road that leads to the Coronet Peak ski field. Skippers Canyon is a popular stopover for heritage cruises, jet boating and bungee jumping. Not for the faint hearted!
